Thailand, Day 5 - Elephant Nature Park, Chiang Mai

WOW - what a magnificent place!  I have many more adventures to report, but I had to get this one up about today (which is actually tomorrow since I crossed the International Dateline)  

A driver picked up my group at 8:30 this morning.  We headed to a local market to pick up food for the Elephants.  We made a line and loaded what seems like 2 TONS of watermelon.  On a side note, the fruit here in Thailand, is like nothing I've ever had before.  

We watched a DVD on the drive about the park that I swear I saw once on the Travel channel or something a few years ago.  It was really powerful to watch this knowing that in just a while, we would be with the elephants.

The park felt like something out of a movie - it is just exquisite!  A lush valley surrounded by rolling mountains.  Ahh..  but time for the photos.  Blogging is tricky since I don't have easy access to internet.
