Paging Dr. Wood stat to the o.r. we need a ..... ok I might be a self confessed medical drama junkie, perhaps one too many episodes of Grey's Anatomy. This weekend I photographed Cristina's graduation from CU. I first met Cristina when she was pregnant with her son, Ethan. I've had the distinct honor of being there for birthdays, and family gatherings ever since. Cristina and Linda (her mom) have made me feel like a member of their own family. So when Cristina contacted me to be there for the ceremony for the family photos, I gladly accepted. Then I got a super secret email from Linda detailing the real plans for the weekend. A few of her girlfriends were flying in from California to surprise her! Each year they do a girl's trip and this year they all pretended to be overwhelmed or busy and planned to attend her graduation as a surprise! Well, after hearing all that was ahead for the new Doctor, I decided that I had to photograph that little surprise as part of the story. As we waited in The Palm restaurant, the anticipation just built until finally.. Cristina walked in and the look on her face was just priceless! Hugs all around, tears, laughter, pure joy.
